BLOCKLINE Loop 1<\/h1>\nWhere badgers and red deer greet you:
\nUnwind in the depths of wonderful nature.\n\t

The mountain meadows are in full bloom. And you’re standing in the middle of it, surrounded by spicy-scented bearwort, blue devil’s claw, bright orange fire lilies, yellow-gold coltsfoot and purple wood cranesbill. From a distance, you can hear the chirping of the wren, while a dipper hops along the stream.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"kahleberg-mountain-bike-family-trail-blockline-oremountains-056\"\n\t

The biodiversity of the forests and mountain meadows here can only be estimated: Red deer, brown hares, otters and badgers. Gray woodpeckers, black storks, black grouse and bats. Adders, wood lizards, slow worms, grass snakes and fire salamanders. They all invite you to gently explore their diverse homes.<\/p>\n

Here, between Rechenberg, Bienem\u00fchle and Holzhau, lies the center of the BLOCKLINE – the ideal starting point for an exciting expedition. Loop 1 of the BLOCKLINE leads you to Steinkuppe: the home of Master Grimbart. You don’t know him? The badger feels right at home here at the Steinkuppe. He has had his den on the slope of the north side of the quarry for many generations.<\/p>\n

Continue to two brothers of a special kind: The Great Lugstein and the Small Lugstein, they are part of the Ore Mountain ridge and have a height difference of only three centimeters. The taller of the two is also the highest of the 14 eight-thousanders in the Osterzgebirge. Those who conquer it are rewarded with a wide view of the surrounding peaks.<\/p>\n

The loop route takes you further to a mystical place: the Georgenfeld high moor is a special natural treasure. Only a few high moors are so well preserved. A unique landscape with rare vegetation: bog pine, cranberry, sundew, trunkberry, cotton grass, seven-pointed star, blueberry and heather characterize the landscape here.<\/p>\n

And here there is a special highlight: with its untouched mountain meadows, the Wei\u00dfbach Valley is one of the most charming valleys in the region. With a total length of only five kilometers, the small river flows through an untouched natural paradise between Seyde and Sch\u00f6nefeld. Only nature itself has made profound changes to the vegetation here.<\/p>\n

The trail of the dragon leads back to the starting point: the rock at the foot of the Kannelberg is said to look remarkably similar to the fire-breathing mythical creature. That is why the Kannelberg is also known as the dragon head. If there were a real dragon here on the mountain, its cave would probably have been discovered in the Middle Ages at the latest. The Kannelberg with its dense forest has long been an important source of wood.<\/p>\n

\n\t\tNature Reserve Hemmschuh\n\t<\/h3>\n\tThe nature reserve is known for its formerly large occurrence of snowdrop flowers.
\nA total of 64 breeding bird species are at home here in an exceptionally large beech forest.\n

The route passes a picturesque, small lake in the middle of the forest. W\u00fcster Teich is an emergency dam pond and was intended to provide additional water for rafting operations on the Wilde Wei\u00dferitz.<\/p>\n

Like in a fairy tale: When the Kahleberg was given its name in the Middle Ages, it was subject to heavy wood clearing. Today it is anything but bare. From the summit you have a fantastic view all the way to the Dresden Elbe Valley, the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and the Bohemin Mountain Range.<\/p>\n\t
