The route is perfect for anyone equipped with wider tires and a sense of adventure. On the BLOCKLINE, you'll enjoy a sporty ride embedded in a fascinating landscape and nature experience.

The BLOCKLINE is a signposted route covering 140 km and 2,750 meters of elevation gain — perfect for one to three days.

Classic MTB, E-MTB, or gravel bike – the BLOCKLINE offers a versatile adventure for all types of riders.


You’ll be accompanied by the vast landscapes of the Ore Mountains, rare plants and animals, and plenty of water along the way.

One of the BLOCKLINE Inns is the perfect starting point. They are your hosts along the route and fully geared up for bikers.

The profile of the BLOCKLINE
On the BLOCKLINE, you can expect varied meadow and field paths, narrow forest paths and wide forest tracks. Overall, the BLOCKLINE is a beginner-friendly MTB route in terms of the required riding technique. But the less time you plan for the route, the greater the physical challenge!

- Along the route, several highlights are waiting for you: enjoy the panoramic view from Schwartenberg, marvel at the fascinating wooden sculptures in Blockhausen, and discover rare plants in the Georgenfeld high moor!
- On Stage 12, you can ride a section of the legendary Erzgebirge Bike Marathon around Seiffen and put your riding skills to the test.
- In Hermsdorf (Loop 1 / Stage 6), a pump track awaits you for a bit of variety.

What makes the BLOCKLINE gravel-friendly?
Originally designed as an MTB beginner route, the BLOCKLINE has become the go-to gravel trail in the eastern Ore Mountains. It offers everything a gravel enthusiast could wish for: gentle descents on gravel paths, plenty of forest trails — sometimes smooth and easy, sometimes rough and challenging.

Tips for accessing the route
- You’ll find train stations near the route in Mulda, Holzhau, Nassau, Altenberg, and Olbernhau.
- From Olbernhau, you can use this route to reach the BLOCKLINE route.
- From Freiberg, you can either take the Freiberger Eisenbahn (local railway) to Mulda, or ride along the Mulde Cycle Path. In Mulda, you join the route at Stage 8.
- There are also several parking areas, for example right at the start and finish portal in Holzhau.
- You’ll find more parking locations in the route map and in the overview map of the entire route on Outdooractive.

The 15 stages can easily be divided into three days and, with the help of the transit routes, become the three loops. The start and finish of the loops is the large BLOCKLINE portal in Holzhau.
